Are you in lockdown? No problem we got you!
After months of lockdowns last year, we thought 2021 would hopefully be different but here we are again in LOCKDOWN. Its kinda feels like you’ve played every board game. Watched every child-friendly movie on Netflix. And read every book you own…twice!
And with Victoria and NSW numbers as high as they are, it’s most likely going to be extended! Don’t quote me, that is totally an assumption only. But, what can we do? We just need to follow the rules for our own safety. Better to be safe than sorry, right?
Thinking of some ideas on what to do in a lockdown can seem impossible as the days go by. Worry no more! Here are some interesting ideas to keep the kids entertained at home.
1. Pack a picnic/camping
– It’s time to go outside, oops not outside your home address thou. Just do a picnic maybe in the garden or in your backyard. Let your kids help you prepare some things for the picnic or camping. Involve them in preparing and let them know they are appreciated.
2. Indoor play (Scavenger Hunt)
– With a little imagination and some household items, you can put together a fun scavenger hunt for your family to do together. You can keep it simple and just dream up some items for your kids to search out, or you can go all out with riddles and clues.
3. Cook something simple (pancakes for breakfast or a sandwich for snack)
– With few ingredients and simple steps everyone can get involved in getting food on the table. Let them mix the pancake mix and it’s ok to be messy the important thing is you enjoy doing it with them.
4. Get Crafty
– Doing some crafts is a great and fun activity for kids of all ages. Don’t’ worry if you don’t have lots of crafts supplies, just look around your Old newspapers, boxes, magazines, and paper towel rolls. Use your imagination, you can use a cardboard box to create a house and a lot more.
