National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a scheme of the Australian Government that funds cost associated with disability. It is legislated in 2013 and went into full operation in 2020. It is administered by the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) and overseen by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission (NDIS Commission).

How NDIS plans are being managed?

Each participant has funds allocated in what we call a plan. Each plan contains funding that can be spent on pre-approved activities such as therapies.

There are three ways an NDIS plan can be managed:

1. by the participant or their nominee managing the plan
2. a registered plan management provider, or
3. by the NDIA

When we say by NDIA the participant self-manages their plan. They are told to keep records of all purchases in case of a future audit.

Every NDIS participant has an individual plan that lists their goals and the funding they have received. NDIS participants use their funding to purchase supports and services that will help them pursue their goals.

Funding Type Explanations:

NDIS Managed

Being an approved and audited NDIS provider, with your consent MBG can claim the full order on your behalf.

Plan Managed

A quote will be sent direct to your Occupational Therapist or funding organisation, once approved, an invoice will be processed for direct payment

Self Managed

You can simply order online, pay via EFT (bank details will be on the invoice) or call us direct and pay over the phone via credit card.
